Strothoff International Academy Camps are active, instructional, and fun; a place where kids from all over the world can learn, play, sing songs, do sports, create art and perform drama – all day, all in English. The concept behind our Day Camps is simple. Each morning, our professional staff of native English speakers guides our groups of campers, through a fun curriculum of cooperative group games and hands on projects, all focused on a daily theme. Each afternoon, the children are in charge and get to choose from a selection of exciting summer camp activities led by our creative and energetic personnel. Strothoff International Academy combines team work and cooperative games with fun outdoor activities to encourage English language skills at all levels of comprehension. By interacting in English throughout the day in both classroom and social settings, we introduce language concepts that are then reinforced through conversation and cooperation.
Our intensive afternoon English camps for teens operate a bit differently. Our week-long, full immersion intensive English camps for teens from 13 years and up run from 1pm – 5pm, Monday – Friday. Every afternoon our teens dive into the four elements of English immersion: speaking, reading, writing, and listening, with certified and experienced English as a Second Language (ESL) teachers. Because we limit our group size to 8 participants, our teachers are able to target each students’ individual needs. Each camper takes an English diagnostic exam before the start of the course and our expert teachers plan lessons to fill each student’s learning gaps. After completing the diagnostic exams each student is placed at their individual level and receives the student workbook that they may keep to continue their English practice after the course has ended.
